1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Hoursbill ("the software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. Licence

Upon completing a valid purchase, Hoursbill grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to install and use the software on up to 2 devices that you personally own or control. You may not sub-licence, sell, rent, or lend your licence to any third party.

3. Free trial

Hoursbill includes a 14-day free trial period after installation. No payment is required during the trial. After the trial period, the software requires a valid licence to continue using all features. No data you created during the trial will be deleted when the trial ends.

4. One-time purchase

Hoursbill is sold as a one-time purchase — there are no recurring subscription fees. Your licence entitles you to the version of the software available at the time of purchase and all minor updates released within the same major version (e.g. 1.x).

5. Refund policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. To request a refund, contact us at hello@hoursbill.com with your order number. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy within 5–10 business days.

6. Permitted use

You may use Hoursbill for personal and commercial purposes, including:

• Creating and sending invoices to your clients.
• Tracking billable time for projects.
• Exporting financial records for accounting purposes.

7. Prohibited use

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
• Remove or alter any copyright or licence notices.
• Use the software to generate fraudulent invoices or engage in any illegal activity.
• Share, resell, or redistribute your licence key.

8. Updates and support

We may release updates, bug fixes, and improvements at our discretion. We provide best-effort email support at hello@hoursbill.com. We do not guarantee response times or specific support levels.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Hoursbill is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use the software at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hoursbill and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any legal proceedings.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
